Mother's Day...

(Mom and newborn me. 1985)

...Was yesterday. We had a great time up at my Mom's house enjoying the sunshine, eating yummy Panera sandwiches and just talking and hanging out outside all afternoon. Today is my Grandmother's (Mimi) birthday (my Mom's Mom) and she would have been 71. I never got to know her as much as I would have liked as she lived in New Jersey. We sent letters and trinkets back and forth while I was in college but didn't get the chance to spend much face time together.
I don't really have a point here. I just felt like she needed to be mentioned today as she has been on my mind.
I was bummed to discover that my scanner is on strike so I tried taking pictures of pictures just so we could have something visually appeasing with this post. Enjoy the sweetness that was the late 80's. :)

(What can I say? I went through a bit of a chunky stage. Clearly.)

(We lived in Corvallis for a short time. In true OSU school spirit, the house had orange carpet.)

(Nom nom nom!)

(It should probably be noted that my Mom did in fact have a swimsuit on here, contrary to what it looks like.
Strapless swimsuits + 1988 = so chic)

(I think all of my pictures of Mimi are in another album up in the loft.
However, I am 99% sure this is her arm. :) Gotta take what we can get.)

P.S. Totally off topic but why does U2's "Red Hill Mining Town" rock so friggin' much?

  1. Thank you both for the best mother's day I can remember...and for sharing these memories. Wow. You only grew more beautiful, and I'm still trying to keep up with the latest fashion. I love you.
